Annual Fermenters Guild of BC Conference |

|

Well it was a whirlwind weekend at the Manteo Resort where we attended our annual Fermenters Guild of BC conference.
We were lucky enough to hear Tim Ellison a wine a weekend filled with wine tasting and a wine discovery seminar. Check out our Facebook page to see some hints and tips and be sure to like us once you are there.
Saturday evening we were presented with three different reds and three different whites all paired with simple to cook foods that were also delicious.
Sunday evening we had a fabulous gala dinner all paired with different wine. They make it look and taste so YUMMY!!!
Monday we had an educational seminar all about aromas and of course we had to drink the samples otherwise it would be classified as alcohol abuse. It’s a tough job but someone had to do it.
We are currently working on our wine tasting event that we hold in October featuring our Limited Editions so stay tuned for that. Rumor also has it that the Chocolate Raspberry Port will be back this year along with Orange Chocolate Port.

Wine Tasting October 2011 |
|
Tuesday, 01 November 2011 |
|
On Wednesday Oct 26th we held our annual wine tasting of the up and coming Limited Edition wines that will be featured starting in Jan of 2012. Our Limited series are always award winning wines and we at Westside U Brew are pleased to say we have won both gold and silver medals with these wines.
With the 5 new wine kits – 3 red and 2 white there seemed to be at least one to please every palate. Joe our local Winexpert rep did an awesome job of describing not only the wine but all the places and reasons as to what makes the wine from that region achieve its taste. Each wine was paired with a food that was chosen to help enhance the individual wine.

I would like to take credit for the great tasting appies but I can’t, we must thank Mike Yorke-Hardy the chef for that and Tim from Winexpert for the choices. We would like to thank all that came out and encourage you to watch the video on our website to see what’s up. But remember these are a Limited Release meaning you have to pre-order them and that deadline is Dec 5th. A special congratulations to Sandy S. who won one of these great wine kits.
